If you have an idea for a book, we’d like to hear about it. W&A Publishing is dedicated to publishing books which provide in-depth information on distinct and timely trading-related topics to individual investors and traders. The books should be targeted to seasoned traders, investment professionals or those just starting to trade who are interested in a comprehensive look at the hottest topics in investing today. The reader will learn about opportune investment strategies, hot trends and practical guidelines for trading today. The books should provide readers a place to learn about a discrete trading topic from a wide variety of the top expert advisers in the field. We look for books that are appropriate for the trading community, that are well researched and based on current trends in the field, and include creative, participatory learning experiences. W&A Publishing is also interested in providing accompanying workbook materials to augment the published book. These workbook or training materials are best as supplemental publications, rather than incorporated into the book itself.

Things to Consider Before Submitting a Proposal

Competition

Find and review books similar to yours. You can find books in the library, at a multitude of online retailers, retail bookstores. Familiarize yourself with the books on your topic, give us some comparable titles and then tell us how your book is similar and how it is different.

Market

Is there a need for another book on your topic? What makes your book unique? Is this a book that the target audience will want to use frequently?

Other Important Issues

Who has reviewed or tested your book? Have you led classes or workshops on the topic? What is your background? Have you published other books, articles, or other materials? If so, please tell us. How will you be able to promote your book? Can you conduct workshops at professional meetings, or do demonstrations at bookstores? Include this information in your letter of inquiry, outlined below.

Submitting a Proposal

We prefer to receive a letter of inquiry and/or a proposal, rather than the entire manuscript. That means you don’t have to wait until you’ve completed your book to send it to us. Before submitting your proposal, we ask that you consider whether your material fits our publishing profile. Your proposal should include the following:
• A description of the subject of your book, as well as its format and length.
• An outline of the book or a sample table of contents.
• A sample chapter or introduction.
• Tell us about yourself, including your qualifications for writing a book on this subject, and any
experience you have with writing and/or having your work published.
• Describe the audience you hope to reach. Please note that we expect that you will already have
researched the market to determine how many books on the same subject are currently
available. We look for unique books that stand out. Explain how your book differs from those
   already on the market.
• We would also like to know your ideas for publicity and promotion of the book, including how
you intend to reach your target market, and any contacts you have that may be helpful.
• Please advise us if you employ an agent.
• Any compensation requirements you have from the outset.
• If you submit art (jacket cover art or charts/graphs), please DO NOT submit original art, but
   representative copies or comps.

We will not accept hand-written submissions.
