We live in a world running at hyper-speed; hurried and hectic is the norm for most everybody these days. To assuage the chaos, we search for – demand -- instantaneous gratification, achieved through split-second word searches, instant messaging, palm devices and cell phones that permanently reside as close as our pocket.

Not that these gadgets and devices and communications don’t assist us in achieving our personal and professional goals – to suggest that they are ephemeral or superfluous in today’s world would be naive! But, what could be more instantaneous than to casually flip open the cover of a book and begin reading! Whether sitting at a desk, or lounging on the couch, on a train or a plane or in the tub, reading a book is a gratifying experience wherever you may be! Oh sure, W&A Publishing will offer e-books and other publications presented in a variety of media; we recognize the benefits of multi-media and will fulfill those niches as well. But we just don’t see the electronically produced word overtaking the ever-popular “old-fashioned” book – not just yet anyway.

And since we are lovers of books – the anticipation of cracking open a new book for the first time, or the comfort of revisiting a well-thumbed edition -- and because we know some pretty clever folks who have some valuable information to disseminate to the readers of this world, W&A Publishing eagerly launches its first publication. We will work diligently towards bringing you many more in the years to come.
